AUSTRALIA/USA: Seeley International, Australia’s largest air conditioning manufacturer, has acquired US evaporative cooling company Integrated Comfort Inc (ICI).

Seeley International Group MD Jon Seeley said the purchase of the Sacramento-based company perfectly complements and extends Seeley’s commercial product range, and presents opportunities to fast-track the company’s international expansion plans in the US.

“This acquisition is a perfect fit for both organisations, strengthening our presence in the lucrative US market and supporting our trajectory growth to become a $1bn company,” Seeley said.

Of particular interest was ICI’s patented DualCool evaporative pre-cooling technology. DualCool was developed as an energy-saving retrofit solution for roof-top air conditioning units. It provides direct evaporative condenser air pre-cooling and indirect cooling of the fresh air stream.

Over 2,570 DualCool have been installed in more than 380 Walmart and Sam’s Club stores across the USA.

ICI’s DualCool product will now become part of Seeley International Group’s extensive portfolio that includes the Breezair, Climate Wizard, Coolerado, Convair, Coolair and Braemar brands.

The acquisition of ICI follows Seeley’s purchase of Denver-based Coolerado Corporation in 2015 and the Australian-based AIRA business in 2016.
