Hello,

It’s time to share another feature with you from our California Geothermal Heat Pump Association’s website. This time, we’re covering a unique multi-family residential building in downtown Davis, California. It was designed and built by friend-of-CaliforniaGeo Dick Bourne. Dick is no relation to filmdom’s Jason Bourne, but he has an identity and supremacy in the field of mechanical engineering because of a long career pursuing energy efficiency. Parkview Place is the name of his 2013 multi-residential Zero Net Energy project in Davis, and it might be seen as an ultimatum to the rest of us to get and stay as green as we can.

This five-unit residential building has already achieved the first LEED Platinum designation within the city of Davis, and performed as carbonless Zero Net Energy Positive for both of its first two years of operation. Dick’s experience as a major force with the Western Cooling Efficiency Center, and his work with Integrated Comfort Inc. are fully present in this building. So is his past involvement with the west Davis Honda Smart House, which also used his shallow helix ground loop design for its geo exchange®.

CaliforniaGeo is proud to feature Parkview Place on our website and we hope you will take a look for yourself.

Thanks—
